Mini Plug Thermocouple
Standard K, J, T, E, and N types are available with Φ1–6 mm probe diameters, 20–500 mm stock lengths, and SS304, SS316, or Inconel 600 sheath options. For applications requiring a different probe construction, see our Sheathed Thermocouple range.
Compared with conventional wired sensors, the mini plug provides a convenient plug-in connection without field wiring, making sensor replacement and routine maintenance faster.
Mini Plug Thermocouple Structure
The assembly consists of an armored temperature probe, insulated transition section, lead wire, and mini thermocouple plug. The connector is available in male and female versions, while the probe can be supplied in straight or 90° L-type configurations.
How It Works
Two dissimilar thermocouple alloys generate a thermoelectric voltage when exposed to a temperature difference. The resulting signal is transmitted through the thermocouple lead and mini plug to the connected temperature controller, measuring instrument, or data acquisition system.

Probe lengths can be supplied within the listed stock ranges. Non-standard lengths are available by custom order. The standard lead length is 100 mm and can be customized.

Mini Plug Temperature Limit
The thermocouple probe can operate within the applicable temperature range of the selected thermocouple type, sheath material, and probe construction. However, the standard mini plug connector has a maximum temperature limit of 250°C. During installation, keep the connector and transition section away from high-temperature areas.

Installation
- Position the probe in the measured medium or place it against the measured surface.
- Connect the mini thermocouple plug to the matching socket on the temperature controller, indicator, or data acquisition equipment.
- Standard mini plug configurations require no field wiring.
- For fixed installation, use a suitable clamp or fixture because the probe has no standard mounting thread.
- Keep the mini plug and transition section away from temperatures above 250°C.
Important: Only the probe should be exposed to the high-temperature measurement area unless a specially rated connector and lead assembly is specified.
