Flange Mounted Assembly Thermocouple

Flange Mounted Assembly Thermocouple

Flange Mounted Assembly Thermocouple is a fixed industrial temperature sensor designed for secure flange-mounted installation. It uses a mineral-insulated sheathed probe with a flange assembly for reliable temperature measurement in pressure vessels, pipelines, boilers, reaction kettles, and industrial furnaces. The probe length, flange specification, thermocouple type, sheath material, and cable configuration can be customized for OEM and replacement applications.

For applications where a flange is not required, see our Industrial Thermocouples. To understand the difference between fixed assembly and sheathed probe constructions, see our Sheathed vs Assembly Thermocouple comparison.

Flange Mounted Thermocouple Features

  • Fixed flange-mounted structure for secure installation on pipelines, pressure vessels, boilers, and reaction equipment.
  • Mineral-insulated sheathed probe provides stable positioning and good vibration resistance.
  • Suitable for sealed or pressurized process equipment where secure flange installation is required.
  • SS304, SS316, and Inconel 600 sheath options are available.
  • Probe diameter, insert length, flange specification, thermocouple type, and cable configuration can be customized.
  • Suitable for OEM equipment, process instrumentation, and replacement applications.

Flange Thermocouple Configuration

Configuration Typical Features Recommended Use
Fixed Flange Assembly Welded flange with fixed probe Pipelines, pressure vessels, boilers
Standard Flange DN25, DN40, DN50 options General industrial equipment
Custom Flange ANSI B16.5 or non-standard dimensions OEM equipment and replacement applications
Flange Mounted Assembly Thermocouple with fixed industrial flange

Thermocouple Type Options

Type K, J, T, E, and N are commonly supplied for industrial temperature measurement. For help selecting the right thermocouple type, see our Thermocouple Types and Selection Guide.

Type Typical Temperature Range Common Applications
Type K -200°C to 1260°C Industrial furnaces, boilers, machinery
Type J -40°C to 750°C Heating equipment and industrial machinery
Type T -200°C to 350°C Low-temperature and process measurement
Type E -200°C to 800°C Testing and laboratory equipment
Type N -200°C to 1300°C High-temperature industrial equipment

S, R, and B thermocouple types are available by custom order. Actual operating temperature depends on thermocouple type, sheath material, probe diameter, atmosphere, installation, and service conditions.

SS304 General industrial temperature measurement
SS316 Corrosive environments and liquid media
Inconel 600 High-temperature furnaces and demanding applications

Connection Options

  • Flying leads – standard lead-wire configuration
  • Mini-plug – optional miniature thermocouple connector
  • Standard thermocouple connector – optional
  • Lead length – 1000 mm standard; custom cable lengths available

Junction Options

  • Grounded – fast response for many industrial applications
  • Ungrounded – electrical isolation between the thermocouple junction and sheath
  • Exposed – available only by special custom order

Temperature Range

The thermocouple element can support a wide operating range depending on the selected type and construction. The flange assembly itself has a separate temperature limitation based on flange and sealing materials.

Thermocouple Type Typical Temperature Range
Type K -200°C to 1260°C
Type J -40°C to 750°C
Type T -200°C to 350°C
Type E -200°C to 800°C
Type N -200°C to 1300°C

Standard flange assembly temperature limit is approximately 550°C for typical materials. High-temperature alloy flange components can be supplied for higher-temperature applications. Actual limits depend on the flange, sealing components, sheath, thermocouple type, and service conditions.
